The Long Island Symphonic Choral Association would like to invite your students to audition for our 2026 Vocal Scholarship Competition!

Many of our members are current or retired Suffolk County Music Educators and we are excited to award outstanding high school vocalists with a performing opportunity and a cash scholarship to assist in their higher education pursuits. As NYSSMA and college audition season is underway, this is an excellent opportunity for your vocal students to take advantage of this scholarship opportunity! Our past scholarship winners include vocalists from the Bellmore-Merrick, Brentwood and Bayshore school districts.

Eligibility

• Applicants must be in 11th or 12th grade.

• Applicants must perform a Level 6 NYSSMA solo written by an American composer from the current manual (July 2025) or a comparable solo with accompaniment

• Applicants must be able to attend the in-person semi-finals with an accompanist, or accompaniment recording, to be held on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at 5:30PM at Three Village Church, 322 Main St, Setauket- East Setauket, NY.

• Applicants must be able to attend a dress rehearsal on Tuesday, May 5th at 7:30PM at St. James Roman Catholic Church, 429 NY-25A, Setauket, NY.

• Applicants must be able to perform at LISCA’s spring concert on Saturday, May 9th at 8:00PM at St. James Roman Catholic Church.

Application Requirements

• Completed written application
• Unaltered, accompanied video audition of Level 6 NYSSMA solo written by an American composer

Applicants must submit a written application and video recording of their vocal solo by Tuesday, April 14th.

The 5 semi-finalists will be announced via email by Tuesday, April 21, 2026.

Five semi-finalists will be selected to perform their solo live for our judges on Tuesday, April 28th, where first, second, and third place winners will be announced.
